Introduction to Guangzhou University Sontan College
Guangzhou University Sontan College (广州大学松田学院, website) was founded in September 2000. It was co-founded by Guangzhou University and Zengcheng Songtian Industrial Co., Ltd. It is the earliest undergraduate independent school in Guangdong Province. Approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2004, the school has achieved a leap from junior college to undergraduate education. In 2011, 15 applied majors of the school passed the assessment of bachelor’s degree granting authority organized by the Guangdong Academic Degrees Committee at one time. The school is a full-time ordinary undergraduate college, which is open for unified national admissions. The school system is four years. Those who pass the test will be issued a “Guangzhou University Matsuda College” with a printed undergraduate certificate issued by the Ministry of Education and a unified electronic registration. If required, the corresponding bachelor’s degree will be awarded.
Guangzhou University Sontan College is located in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou. The campus covers an area of 540 acres, the total area of the school building is 217,000 square meters, the library has more than 560,000 books, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is over 38 million yuan. At present, the school has 2 departments, 1 department, 6 departments, namely the School of Economics and Management, the Department of Electrical and Automotive Engineering, the Department of Computer Science and Technology, the Department of Law and Politics, the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Arts, the Department of Social Sports, the Department of General Education, and the Social Sciences. Department, with 34 undergraduate majors and 52 professional directions, covering seven disciplines including literature, law, economics, management, education, engineering, and art. The school has more than 400 full-time teachers, including more than 100 full-time and associate professors, and 253 teachers with master’s degrees and above, accounting for 66.23% of the total number of full-time teachers. Teachers across the school have been awarded more than 50 person-times at the municipal level, and many have won honorable titles such as “Southern Guangdong Excellent Teacher”, “Guangzhou Excellent Teacher”, and “Zengcheng Excellent Teacher”.
Guangzhou University Sontan College takes the cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate talents as the foundation, and relies on the resources and platform of the parent school Guangzhou University to create a “teaching, management, service, and service” student growth atmosphere. In accordance with the “wide caliber, thick foundation, “High-quality, strong ability” training requirements, formulated and implemented the “platform + module” talent training program, effectively guaranteeing excellent quality of talent training. The employment rates of our school in the past three years were 96.75%, 95.55%, and 93.09%, and more than 80% of graduates employed in the Pearl River Delta region. In recent years, the school has successfully held exhibitions of calligraphy and painting works of teachers and students of art departments in Singapore and Paris, France; students of our school have participated in the National College Student Mathematical Modeling, National College Student Electronic Design Competition, National College Student Advertising Art Competition, National College Student English Competitions and other competitions at all levels and levels, 29 people and 5 collectives won the national competition, 47 people and 10 collectives won the provincial competition, and 89 people and 12 collectives won the Guangzhou municipal award. In 2018, 8 students were admitted to the civil service, 27 graduate students, 23 passed the judicial examination, 7 won national scholarships, 215 were inspirational scholarships, and 775 were bursaries for a total of 4.166 million yuan. Students actively participated in various discipline competitions at all levels, and won a total of 5 national awards and 81 provincial and ministerial awards. The school has been awarded the honorary title of “Zengcheng Advanced Group for Teaching and Education” for 7 consecutive years. In 2019, as an important event of our country ’s main diplomatic event, the Asian Civilization Dialogue Conference, the Guangzhou Asian Food Festival, our school cafeteria was awarded the honorary title of “My Favorite Campus Restaurant” by the organizing committee.
Guangzhou University Sontan College has implemented the work plan of opening up the national education to the outside world and strived to open up a new situation in internationalized schooling. The school has an international cooperation and exchange center, which has extensive contacts with foreign and overseas universities, and has launched a series of international exchanges and cooperation in running schools. For example, in cooperation with Ashland University (USA), a joint 3 + 1 + 1 master’s degree program in business management, and in cooperation with BPP University (UK), a joint 3 + 1 master’s degree program in law and business, Cooperate with the Macau University of Science and Technology in sponsoring undergraduate sponsored graduate programs, cooperate with the Guangdong Education International Exchange Service Center in the United States for paid internship programs, and education exchange and cooperation projects with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions.
Guangzhou University Sontan College is located in the beautiful and rich lychee hometown-Zengcheng District, Guangzhou, 50 kilometers away from the center of Guangzhou, adjacent to 324 National Highway (Guangshan Highway) and Guangzhou Metro Line 21, which can easily and quickly reach the center of Guangzhou And the entire Pearl River Delta region.
