Introduction to Guangdong University of Finance and Economics
Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (website) was approved by the State Council in May 1983. After 36 years of development, the school has become a provincial key institution with full-time undergraduate and master’s degree students of more than 26,600. It is an important training, scientific research and social service base for economics, management and law in Guangdong and South China.
Campus
The university has two campuses, Guangzhou and Foshan Sanshui, with a total area of 2,275 mu. The Guangzhou campus is adjacent to the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. The Foshan Sanshui Campus is located next to the Sanshui Forest Park. The existing school buildings are about 728,000 square meters, the total value of teaching and research equipment is 179.527 million yuan, and the books are more than 552 million books; 1851 digital education resources have been built independently.
There are 1332 full-time teachers in the university, including 218 high-ranking teachers and 404 associate high-ranking teachers, 656 with doctoral degrees; 294 master’s tutors and 21 post-doctoral supervisors; 1 national teaching team, 12 It has a provincial teaching team, four provincial research teams, and five Pearl River scholars.
There are 1 special professor of Zhujiang Scholars, 4 lecture professors, 1 young Pearl River scholar, 15 high-level talents such as “Nanling Scholars”, 13 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, and members of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. 4 people, 1 member of the Provincial Academic Degree Committee, and 3 members of the Provincial Discipline Review Group.

The school was selected as the first batch of excellent legal talent education training base and national university student cultural quality education base; the economic practice education base jointly established by our school and Guangzhou Taxation Bureau is the national university student practice teaching base. The multi-disciplinary comprehensive experimental teaching team of the economics and management category is a national teaching team. The “Comprehensive Operation of Enterprise Simulation” course is a national-level quality course. The two courses “International Trade” and “E-Commerce Logistics” are national-level bilingual teaching demonstration courses. It was approved as the first batch of postgraduate course construction pilot units of the Ministry of Education and is a demonstration school for innovation and entrepreneurship education in Guangdong Province. The international application-oriented accounting talents collaboration education platform and the Guangdong University of Finance and Economics taxation professional synergy education base were approved as the Guangdong Provincial Collaborative Education Platform. In 2017, the school signed an agreement with the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, the Foshan Municipal People’s Government, and the Sanshui District People’s Government of Foshan City to establish the Foshan Campus of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics to jointly build the International Business School, the School of Cultural and Creative Studies, the Foshan Graduate School, and Foshan Modern. The “Four Institutes and One Base”, such as the Service Industry Research Institute and the modern service industry incubation and innovation and entrepreneurship base, highlights the three characteristics of running a school, the school, the government, the enterprise, the enterprise, and the internationalization.

The three first-level disciplines of applied economics, business administration and law at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics are provincial-level key disciplines, and theoretical economics is a provincial-level key discipline.
There are 8 master’s degree programs in theoretical economics, applied economics, law, Marxist theory, statistics, management science and engineering, business administration, design, etc. (covering more than 40 master’s degree authorized secondary subjects) ) and a master’s degree in English Language and Literature, which has 12 master’s degree programs in finance, taxation, insurance, auditing, law, publishing, engineering, accounting, business administration, public administration, tourism management, and art.

In the past five years, the teachers have undertaken 87 national-level projects and 357 provincial-level projects, and have undertaken one major project of the National Social Science Fund and one major project of the Ministry of Education for philosophy and social science research. He published 1,348 papers in authoritative and core journals such as “China Science”, “Economic Research” and “Management World”, and 239 articles were indexed by SCI, EI, and ISTP; 211 books were published. He has won 23 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research awards, including 2 scientific research outstanding achievements awards from the Ministry of Education.

Social Service

Multi-level, multi-channel and multi-form external exchanges and cooperation will continuously improve the degree, level and efficiency of internationalization of running schools.
