Introduction to Gannan Normal University
Founded in 1958, Gannan Normal University (website) opened its doors as a small teachers’ college.Today, the University has grown into a public comprehensive institution with a proud history and an eye on the future.
Maintaining a tradition of success in teachers’ education and covering 10 disciplines including Law, Economics, History, Literature, Science, Engineering, Education, Management, Arts and Agriculture, the University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in 157 programs through 19 degree-granting schools.It has a diverse student body of 18,800 students representing 13 foreign countries and 29 regions of China, and 1100 teaching professionals.
With an “Excellence” grading by the Ministry of Education in 2007, the university aspires to be a comprehensive normal university being the leader of the region, ranking among the first in the province and being well-known among its cousins in China.
