Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic (福州墨尔本理工职业学院, website) is co-organized by Minjiang College and two public universities of Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia (school license number: GOV35AUA03INR20170936N). It is General Secretary Xi Jinping’s active promotion of friendship with Tasmania in Australia while serving as governor of Fujian Established under the background of state-to-state relations, the predecessor is Ain International College of Minjiang University, which has actually had a history of 20 years of Sino-foreign cooperative education. In January 2017, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education as a Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school with independent legal personality and renamed Fuzhou Melbourne Institute of Technology. It is the twelfth nationwide and the only independent Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run college in Fujian Province.

Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic currently offers a number of “new engineering” and “new business” majors that cover international information education, finance, commerce and trade, tourism, and other categories, which are in line with international education. It introduces international high-quality education resources and implements diversity in line with international education. The school-based model, the introduction of the century-old TAFE education in Australia and the Melbourne Polytechnic’s advanced curriculum system, combined with domestic actual development of talent training programs, carry out associate degree education and Australian specialist Diploma education. Students who meet the graduation requirements of both universities can obtain a double certificate of China-Australia-Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic Vocational College Diploma and Melbourne Polytechnic Associate Degree or Australian Diploma Certificate.

Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic has a bilingual bilingual teacher team with Chinese and foreign teachers. It implements teaching management in line with international education, establishes a diverse teaching quality assurance system of internal review, external evaluation, and foreign monitoring. The requirements of Chinese higher education are assessed and monitored by the Australian Higher Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and the Australian Technical Quality Assurance Agency (ASQA). 20 years of running the school, the school has gradually formed the “one intensive, two integration, three training, four channels” of school running characteristics, that is, students continue to strengthen the EAP-based Fumo English education for three years; the construction of the “university integration” internationalization Curriculum system; Chinese, foreign and corporate trilateral education of talents; students’ training is mainly based on employment and entrepreneurship, and also provides students with a path to higher education at home, directly abroad, and studying abroad.

The quality of Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic’s Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools has continued to improve, and talent training and running have achieved remarkable results. After the school was approved to set up an independent university in 2017, it won the first and second prize of the Fujian Provincial Teaching Achievement Award for the first application; it became the first batch of demonstration sites for party building work in Fujian universities; two projects were successfully selected by the Ministry of Education for Higher Vocational Education Innovative Development Action Plan (2015-2018) “project identification list, of which international economics and trade majors were selected as backbone majors, cross-border e-commerce professional group productive training bases were selected as productive training bases; provincial-level cross-border power Business professional group; it has a number of key provincial vocational education and lifelong education construction projects, including professional training bases for vocational colleges, excellent online open courses, and professional education resource bases for vocational education. In the past three years, students have won 64 national awards and 148 provincial awards. International applied talent training has achieved good results.

Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic has continued to expand international education exchanges and cooperation. So far, there have been 140 batches of educational exchanges from 69 foreign universities and 457 visits; 49 batches of exchanges and study from 50 domestic universities and 226 exchange visits. Establish the Fumo International Education Alliance, and have established good cooperative relations with 83 foreign universities and overseas educational institutions. Students are welcome to continue their studies.

Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic has sent 5,299 graduates to the community. Through international training, students enrolled at the college level have developed by leaps and bounds. The graduate employment rate is above 97%, and the professional counterpart employment rate is above 70%. With the encouragement, support and help of the school, many graduates have successfully achieved self-employment and entrepreneurial dreams. 60%, ranking the forefront of higher vocational colleges in the province; successfully helped more than 1,000 students to continue their studies in foreign universities, and most of the overseas students have obtained overseas masters degrees and achieved good development. 2008 grade alumni Xu Shengmin, through the international training of the school, went to Australia to continue his studies and obtained bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees. He is now conducting post-doctoral research at the Singapore School of Management. During President Xi Jinping’s visit to Australia in November 2014, our school’s 2001 graduates are incumbent Xu Zhe, President of the Tasmanian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, was invited to the state banquet and was cordially received. At present, the school has become the largest Sino-foreign cooperative school in Fujian Province with the largest number of cooperatively-run schools and the largest number of students in overseas institutions.
