Introduction to Dalian Jiaotong University
Dalian Jiaotong University (website), located in the charming coastal city Dalian, was founded in 1956. It was formerly administrated by the Ministry of Railway, and in March 2000, it was put under the administration of Liaoning Provincial Government following the policy that universities or colleges be co-governed by the joint effect of the central and the local government with the latter being the main administrative body. And in May, 2004, it was renamed as Dalian Jiaotong University which is the only high school being characterized in traffic and transportation. With 50 years’ construction and development, it has been basically established the well basement for its further construction and development as a high level university with strong ability for teaching, high level of scientific research.
The International College of DJTU (website), one of colleges of Dalian Jiaotong University, established for implementing international education programs. The institute has been adhered to the guiding ideology of “learning westerns in Chinese educational system “since it was founded in July 1998. During the period of Sino-foreign cooperation, the institute actively explored and practiced managing methodology and operational mechanism of education, introduced high-quality teaching resources of foreign universities, keeping the principles of meticulous organization, strict management, Faith schools, the quality of security and significant characteristics. Under the guidance and concern of the leaders, the scale and level of college school has been constantly upgrading, and the quality of teaching has been recognized by the higher authorities and society, In 2000 and 2004 the institute was evaluated by Liaoning Provincial Department of Education as outstanding Chinese-foreign cooperative education unit. In 2006 the experts from the Ministry of Education considered the joint-programs excellent standard in foreign Cooperation in education.
Relying on high-quality educational resources of Dalian Jiaotong University, International College actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation. Besides the cooperation with La Trobe University, the institute also cooperates and exchange education experiences with more than 20 universities, including Australian Northern Melbourne Institute of Technology, Macquarie University, Flinders University, Monash University, the University of Swinburne, Adelaide University, UK Bruno Brunel University, Middlesex University and Wright State University of the United States. Offering a broad choice for students furthering their studies of master’s degree, Ph.D.
With the hopes and dreams of countless people, International College is on the way to international education. About the City
As one of the 14 coastal open cities in China, Dalian(
City Panorama) is an important coastal port city of Liaoning Province. It’s the second largest city of Liaoning Province and the largest port city of Northeast China.
