Civil Aviation Flight University of China (中国民用航空飞行学院, website) is directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Its predecessor was established in May 1956 and approved by Premier Zhou Enlai. The Civil Aviation Administration Aviation School of China was appointed by Chairman Mao Zedong. The 14th Aviation School of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. In May 1963, the Ministry of Education reported to the State Council that the school was included in the list of higher education institutions. In October of the same year, the school was renamed as the China Civil Aviation Advanced Aviation School in accordance with the instructions of the Central Military Commission. In December 1987, it was renamed the China Civil Aviation Flight Academy.
After nearly 62 years of construction and development, the university has become the world’s largest full-time university with the largest scale and strongest flight training, and has a high impact in China, especially in the world’s civil aviation. More than 90% of China ’s civil aviation captains have graduated here. The school is known as the “cradle” of Chinese civil aviation pilots and the “Huangpu” of Chinese civil aviation management cadres.
School Resources:
Civil Aviation Flight University of China is located in the hinterland of Chengdu Plain-Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. It covers an area of more than 17,000 acres and a building area of over 1.5 million square meters. The total value of equipment is 6.2 billion yuan: At present, the school has 5 airports, including Luoyang and Mianyang airports, which integrate flight support and training, and the annual passenger throughput exceeds 1 million passengers; A total of 262 junior, intermediate and advanced trainer aircrafts including 14 models including 600, Simeonor, TB, Cessna-172, and full flight simulators, including Boeing 737-300, 800, Airbus 320, etc. 45 trainers; more than 400 various aero engines; and the most advanced 360-degree full-view tower command system in domestic universities; more than 1 million books, more than 3 million electronic books, and 33 domestic and foreign databases. It is the largest comprehensive library in China’s civil aviation industry, and has a 1000-megabyte campus network.
Civil Aviation Flight University of China also builds aero engine maintenance training centers co-founded by China, the United States, and France. The physical engines used for education and education account for about 80% of the domestic fleet’s engines. At the same time, the school is a maintenance and overhaul center authorized by well-known aviation companies such as Bendix / King’s and Lycoming Motivation, Continental Engines, etc. It is an “ICAO” pilot, controller English “examiner” training center authorized by China Civil Aviation, Examination centers, aircraft maintenance license examination centers, flight dispatcher training centers, engineering technology training centers, and provide technical support and training for China’s civil aviation legislation and building standards.

The university has formed a number of brand professional groups and superior disciplines that have significant influence in the international, domestic and civil aviation fields under the five disciplines of science, engineering, literature, management, and law. It is a pilot unit of the “MPL” curriculum that the United Nations focuses on. The school has 7 national and provincial key majors, and 17 national or provincial ministry-level courses. Among them, the flight technology major is a national-level talent training model innovation experimental area, and the navigation laboratory is the “Sichuan Experimental Demonstration Center”. Civil Aviation Flight University of China currently has 3,300 faculty members and more than 1,300 teachers. Among them, there are more than 400 teachers with senior titles such as super pilots, meritorious pilots, professors, researchers, professors and senior engineers, and young and middle-aged teachers with doctoral and master degrees account for more than 75% of the total number of teachers. As of 2014, Civil Aviation Flight University of China has trained 100,000 graduates of various types for China and Asian and African countries. Among them, the training of civil aviation flight personnel accounted for more than 80% of the total number of civil aviation pilots in China. Among the graduates are industry elites who have served as the director, deputy director and general manager of the Aviation Group, chairman of the joint-stock company, and director of the regional administration, as well as technical backbones who have been working in the field for a long time. For many years, the employment rate of graduates of our school has always been among the top in resident airlines and ordinary universities in Sichuan. Scientific research:
Over the years, the Civil Aviation Flight University of China has maintained a strong momentum of scientific research. In the past 5 years, the school has undertaken 33 national projects including the 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the National Social Science Foundation of China, and has won 127 national, provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievement awards. The school currently includes national civil aviation flight technology and aviation safety key research bases, China Digital Simulation Joint Experimental Center (in cooperation with Sichuan University Zhisheng), Plateau Flight Research Institute and Navigation Laboratory (Sichuan Provincial Experimental Demonstration Center), etc. 7 provincial and ministerial scientific research bases (key laboratories). The continuous strengthening of scientific research and laboratory construction has also injected vitality into the quality of teaching and personnel training. In 2014 alone, our university students won 5 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 11 outstanding prizes in national competitions such as computer software, mathematical modeling, aeromodelling, and English speech.
International cooperation and exchange:
Since the beginning of the 1960s, Civil Aviation Flight University of China has started accepting foreign students from abroad, and has trained more than 6,000 flight, aircraft, and air traffic control personnel for 16 countries and regions in Asia and Africa. At present, the school works with civil aviation agencies and aviation institutions in 21 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Russia, as well as with ICAO, the International Civil Aviation Transport Association, the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the European Union Aviation Authority ( Civil aviation agencies such as JAA) have established extensive exchanges with well-known aviation manufacturing companies such as Boeing, Airbus and Airbus parent companies-European Aeronautic Defense and Space Group (EADS), Snecma, GE, and International Aero Engine Company And partnership.
Since 2000, more than 5,000 students at Civil Aviation Flight University of China have traveled to the United States, Britain, France, and Australia to study abroad, and have accepted nearly 300 international students from friendly countries. At present, the number of foreign experts who are teaching in the school for long and short term stays at about 25.
