Introduction to Chongqing College of International Business and Economics
Chongqing College of International Business and Economics (重庆师范大学涉外商贸学院, website) is a private college formerly known as Chongqing Normal University Foreign Trade and Business College.
The college is located in Chongqing, a famous historical city with three thousand years of cultural heritage. It has two campuses in Hechuan and Tongliang. The campus is shaded by trees, grasses and lakes. With the continuous expansion of school scale, the school’s hardware facilities are becoming better and more advanced. The school has a smart laboratory building with advanced functions, a spacious and bright library with a rich collection of books, a well-equipped student apartment, a gymnasium, a gym, an experimental theater, a simulation studio, and more than 200 multimedia and intelligent classrooms. The campus is fully covered with 5G wireless network.
After nearly two decades of development, the school has set up 12 colleges and currently has 45 undergraduate majors, involving 7 disciplines and 22 major categories. Among them, applied economics is a municipal key discipline, and English, international economics and trade, and tourism management are Chongqing’s characteristic majors.
The college builds a “one body and two wings” with “economics and management majors as the main body, English, business English, Japanese, translation and other majors as language support, and data science and big data technology, applied statistics and other majors as technical support” Disciplinary and professional structure, build a “business + language + technology” application-oriented foreign economic and trade talent training model, and focus on cultivating cross-border business and cross-cultural communication talents with strong open awareness and strong technical application capabilities.
The college has always paid attention to the construction of teaching research and collaborative innovation platform. The digital economy industry-education integration training base was selected as a major construction project database of the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Chongqing Modern Digital Economy Research Institute is under preparation. There are 1 municipal experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 municipal crowd-creation space, and 3 district-level technological innovation platforms including the Digital Economy Technology Innovation Center. The college has accumulatively obtained more than 100 scientific research projects at the municipal level and above, more than 120 monographs have been published by teachers, and more than 1,000 academic papers have been published.
The college actively develops school-site, school-enterprise cooperation. Signed a strategic cooperation agreement with relevant departments of Hechuan District and Tongliang District to serve the local social and economic development; co-built the first Tencent Cloud laboratory in southwestern universities with Tencent Cloud (Beijing) Co., Ltd.; co-built Xinghong Film and Television with Beijing Xinghong Media Financial Media Industry College; and Beijing Zhongke Wenfeng to build a national intelligent economy industry-education integration practice base; to carry out student paid practice projects with well-known companies such as iQiyi (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. and Owen Education Group; and Alibaba, More than 130 companies including JD.com have established school-enterprise partnerships and signed agreements to jointly build internship practice bases.
Chongqing College of International Business and Economics promotes internationalization, highlights its external characteristics, implements open education, and has established academic exchanges and friendly cooperative relations with universities in Thailand, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Poland and other countries. We actively respond to the national “One Belt One Road” initiative and recruit international students from countries along the “One Belt One Road”. Foreign teachers are hired all year round to give lectures and lectures in the school, and carry out study tours and visits for teachers and students. The paid internship program for students abroad is well developed.
The college has sent more than 50,000 outstanding graduates to the society, and the quality of talent training has been widely recognized by the society and employers. The employment rate of graduates remained above 94%, and the number of students who entered the postgraduate entrance examination accounted for 40.8% of the total number of applicants. Students have repeatedly achieved good results in various competitions and competitions, and have won more than 30 national first prizes and more than 100 national second prizes.
