About China Jiliang University
China Jiliang University (CJLU, website) is an undergraduate institution featuring measurement, standards, quality, market supervision and inspection and quarantine. The university was formerly the Hangzhou Metrology School founded by the National Metrology Administration in 1978. It was upgraded to the China Metrology Institute by the Ministry of Education in 1985. In 2016, it was renamed as China Metrology University. In 2017, it became a provincial university.
China Jiliang University has 15 master’s degree programs. There are 18 institutes and 1 independent college. There are more than 15,000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 1950 graduate students. There are more than 1,300 full-time teachers in the university, of which 70% are doctoral teachers.
China Jiliang University has 27 research platforms: the National International Science and Technology Cooperation Base, the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the National Quality Inspection Center, the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory, the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory, the Zhejiang Engineering Laboratory and so on. The Science and Technology Park of China Jiliang University was recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education as the National University Science and Technology Park, a national-level technology business incubator, a national-level mass creation space, and a college student science and technology entrepreneurship practice base.
China Jiliang University has been vigorously promoting international education, and has established extensive friendly cooperation with universities and research institutions in more than 30 countries including the United States, Britain, New Zealand, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Australia, Canada, etc. and has been jointly carrying out the doctoral, master’s and bachelor training project. Plus, the university has built two undergraduate cooperative education projects with New Zealand and British universities, and also built a Confucius Institute cooperating with Czech universities.
China Jiliang University has also been actively developing international student education, and currently has 358 international students, from 33 countries including Asia, Africa and Europe.
In response to the national “One Belt, One Road” initiative, the world’s first “Belt and Road” standardized education and research university alliance was established, with 105 universities from 30 countries and regions joining, including 37 overseas universities. It also has a Hangzhou-Dresden Liaison Office to promote Sino-German university students’ innovation and entrepreneurship education cooperation, Sino-German teacher-student exchanges and scientific and technological cooperation.

About Hangzhou
Hangzhou is the provincial capital of Zhejiang Province, a strong economical province in China. It is the transportation hub, the political, economic, cultural and financial center of Zhejiang Province.
At the end of 2018, the Hangzhou metropolitan area has an area of 53,239 square kilometers and a population of 25.698 million.
