Introduction to Changchun University of Science and Technology
Changchun University of Science and Technology (website) is a university founded in 1958 by Chinese Academy of Sciences. Through years, it has developed into a provincial key university in Jilin province with Optoelectronic technology as its outstanding feature, integrating Optics, Mechanics, Electronics, Computer and Material Science as its superiority and coordinately developing in the fields of Arts, Economics, Management and Law. It has been widely acknowledged as “the Cradle for Chinese Optical Talents”.Currently, there are 18 schools and teaching institutions, 57 undergraduate programs, 83 graduate programs, and 25 doctoral programs. Holding a leading position in China, the potential research fields cover the aspects of laser technology, optoelectronic instruments, measurement techniques, advanced manufacturing technology, optoelectronic medical instruments and nanometer manufacturing. In September 2016, there were 16,103 undergraduates, 4,408 postgraduates and 467 doctoral candidates. Changchun University of Science and Technology attached great importance to international exchange and cooperation by successively creating international links with universities and research institutes from more than 20 countries. It has a Confucius Institute in Russia as one of 20 lists of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Chinese-Project Universities. CUST sincerely welcomes students from all over the world and provides Chinese Government Scholarship, Jilin Province Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship, etc. Now there are more than 300 foreign students from about 50 countries studying in CUST every year.
The International Education and Exchange College of CUST is an organization specially engaged in enrolling international students and in charge of the educative matters. Up to now, IEEC has hosted a total number of more than 2,000 students from 79 countries around the world since its very beginning of accepting international students in 1987. At present, the total number of our international students (Chinese language students, undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral students and senior scholar,) amounts to more than 400 each year. Our college has a well-developed educational system, rich teaching experience, good environment of study and sound living conditions for international students. The programs offered in our college are: Chinese language training courses, short-term Chinese language and culture experiencing programs, undergraduates, graduates and doctoral programs.

About Changchun
Changchun (City Panorama) is the capital of Jilin Province of China. Changchun city stands at the central part of Northeast China. In history, it’s the last emperor, Pu Yi’s “Royal Capital. Now, it has been turned into a beautiful, prosperous, open and internationalized city, known as the “Spring City of Northland “. It covers a total area of 20,604 square kilometres, a population of over 4 million.
