My name is Adelaide, I’m 27 years of age and I’m South African. I have my Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Pretoria, I also have a TESOL certificate which makes me a certified Teacher as well.
I started teaching at Elementary school in South Africa 2011. I always wanted to travel abroad so I had an opportunity to go to South Korea and Teach English as a foreign language to students. I started teaching in South Korea from 2012-2015 and I have been teaching students from kindergarten, elementary and middle school students . Teaching is so exciting and a lot of fun only if you love what you do, which I do. Every time I had to go to a class for a lesson I’m always full of energy and drive to make a difference on my students. Teaching in China is a great experience, the warmth and support from my Directors and the love from my students was amazing and that’s what motivated me all the time. Leaving in a foreign country for years and knowing I’ve made a difference while being there, is what kept me going and teaching in foreign countries for an extended time.
I now have a teaching position at Hangzhou No.2 Middle School. The city is amazing, I especially like how green it is. The students are great and so are my colleagues. I know what my responsibilities are as a teacher and I will continue to better my teaching skills and working with my students is definitely a great pleasure! I look forward to seeing more of China and exploring the surroundings of the exquisite Hangzhou city!
