Roman – Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics

My name is Roman, and I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. This city of some 750,000 people is located in the center of Canada. The winters are very cold and the summers are fairly hot. Autumn is a nice time of the year.

I am a certified and qualified classroom teacher with many years of experience. My most rewarding teaching experiences have been in South Korea and also in China. I am planning to teach for at least one more year, perhaps two years. When I get back home to Canada, I Would like to start an antique furniture business. Also, I will plant a garden and raise some small animals.

When I first arrived at this campus at ZJTIE, I did not know what to expect. As time went on, I felt more comfortable here. No problem at all. But I did notice that the college is much smaller than most of the other universities and colleges in the area.

The students in the college are friendly, kind, and more than willing to help me with some of my shopping. The students are always cheerful and energetic too. The girls like to study English.

During my stay at this college, I attended several concerts, drama plays, and oral English Competitions. Very interesting indeed. Also, I had the opportunity to go to some social dinners. They were just great.

The entire Xiasha area is very nice with numerous shops, and very fine restaurants. I found that everywhere that I went, I was welcomed. Also, the transportation system is very reliable and cheap.

I have a new teaching position at Ningbo university but I will certainly miss my hard-working students here. I would like to congratulate the efforts that the Chinese teachers put forth every day of the week. Teaching takes a lot of effort and skill.

Lastly, I would like to thank James and Steven for helping me with some of my work load.
