Dear principle Yu,Dear teacher and classmates:
Good morning!
I am DANIEL, from UK thousands of miles away. As theChinese saying goes: “It is better to travel ten thousand miles than toread ten thousand books.”? so when Igraduated from University of West of England, I came to China, the world’soldest country.
Different life, different cultures, differentlanguages, very special experience, must be the most valuable wealth in my life
My life in China is very different to my life in theUK. I think the 3 biggest differences are – the Chinese people, the food andthe weather. The Chinese people are very friendly and warm-heartedhard-working. In China, people treat foreigners with lots of respect andhappiness. That is why I am very happy to be here in Julong, China. My memoryof Chinese people will be very happy.
When I first came to China I had a very difficult timeeating Chinese food. I found the food to be very spicy and had lots of oil. ButI have now been in China for 3 years and I really love Chinese food. It’s myfavourite food. In England, we very rarely eat rice but we eat lots of meat –like chicken and fish. But sometimes I miss the beautiful food that my Mumcooks at home in the UK!
In my hometown, it rains nearly every day! It is oftenvery cold and very windy. I really don’t like the weather. But in China I thinkthere is lots of sunshine and I can wear shorts and tshirts a lot! In the UK, Iusually need to wear a coat and and a hat. Even in the winter in China it isstill not very cold. In the winter in the UK, it is so cold and there is lotsof snow. I prefer the weather in China but I don’t like the thphoons.
I am very happy to be a teacher in Julong because Ithink it is a very special school. The principal is very thoughtful,Theteachers and the students are very hard working and I love teaching here. Ihope to be here for a long time and watch all the students grow up and watchthem be successful young adults.
I use the words of Shakespeare to end the speechtoday: The time of life is short ;o spend that shortness basely,it would be toolong .
Thank you everyone!Have good day!
