On the morning of September 2, the opening ceremony was held for the 7th Sino-German joint class which was jointly organized by the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering and the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, the University of Stuttgart. Some teachers of the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering and both the Chinese and German students attended the ceremony.
Prof. Wang Jianxin hosted the ceremony. Prof. Wang welcomed the teachers and students of the University of Stuttgart and introduced the basic situation of the Sino-German joint class.
Joachim Speidel, professor of the University of Stuttgart expressed his gratitude in his speech. He appreciated NJUST’s support to the Sino-German joint class, the thoughtful preparation and warm reception of the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering.
This year’s Sino-German joint class lasts for two weeks, with 15 students from Germany and 22 students from the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering. Prof. Yang Bin and Prof. Speidel from the University of Stuttgart and several professors from the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering will jointly teach Digital Communications and Deep Learning to students majoring in Electronic Information.
In addition, NJUST and the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering have arranged other courses and activities to help German students know more about Chinese traditional culture and promote the interaction and exchange between the Chinese and German students.
In recent years, the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering has established long-term academic exchanges and cooperation with universities and research institutions in many countries and regions. The school has set up International Class, which aims to cultivate high-quality and innovative students with international perspectives. The school operates double degrees program, short-term visiting program, summer exchange program, dispatching students to overseas for academic experience.
