On May 26th, the Second International Cultural Festival of Hangzhou Normal University was held in Cangqian Campus.
The opening ceremony of the International Cultural Festival was hosted by Ma Jun, deputy dean of the School of International Education. Participants include Xiaobo Ruan, the director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Jin Yuexiang, Deputy Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages.
The International Culture Festival helps international students better perceive China and understand cultures of their peers from different parts of the world. Xiaobo Ruan, announced the opening of the International Cultural Festival. At the event, students from South Korea, Thailand, Azerbaijan and other countries performed their traditional folk songs and dances on the stage.

Students from a total of twenty countries showed the specialties from their countries including Turkish coffee, Uzbekistan’s hand-picked rice, Muay Thai performance, Hungarian chocolate, Korean kimchi rice cake, costumes of African countries etc. The colorful exhibitions attracted the attention of Chinese and foreign students. The students went to the booths of various countries to learn about the culture, traditions, and tasted their specialties.
The purpose of this International Cultural Festival is to provide international students and teachers an opportunity to know each other and appreciate each other’s cultural background.
