On February 23, 2024, the International Exchange Office held a meeting of all teachers at the beginning of the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year in Conference Room 574 of Minghua Building. A total of 25 members of all Chinese and foreign teachers of the International Exchange Office attended the meeting, which was presided over by Deputy Director Zhang Yun. At the beginning of the meeting, Director Hu Zhen reviewed and summarized the teaching work of the last semester, and Deputy Director Zhang Yun and Liang Jie planned and arranged the teaching work of the new semester.
Then, Hu Zhen, Director of the International Exchange Office, fully affirmed the joint efforts of all Chinese and foreign teachers of the department in the last semester, who insisted on the successful completion of the teaching tasks of the courses. He also made an overall deployment of the key work of international exchange in this semester and hoped that Chinese and foreign teachers could still work closely together and make progress in this semester. In addition, the department also encourages foreign teachers to actively contribute to the construction of departmental activities and scientific research activities, if there are good ideas, the department will also actively encourage the implementation. With the arrival of the centralized foreign teachers in this semester, we also hope that the foreign teachers on campus will actively cooperate with the centralized foreign teachers, actively promote Chinese culture and share and exchange their experiences on campus, fully cooperate with the internationalization work of the university, and continuously improve the teaching quality of international courses and the international atmosphere of the campus.
Liang Jie, Deputy Director of the Department of International Courses, gave a brief explanation to the foreign teachers about the requirements of the courses of the cooperative programs and the situation of the students, and reminded them of the arrangement and system of the course teaching in the new semester. Huang Snapdragon, Teaching Secretary of International Courses Department, clarified to the foreign teachers the teaching tasks, course arrangement, student list, teaching document requirements and other matters in this semester, and Dusty, the foreign teacher, emphasized the use of foreign teacher’s handbook and Q&A handbook, etc. for the foreign teachers. Afterwards, Director Hu Zhen, Deputy Director Zhang Yun, and Liang Jie exchanged and discussed with the foreign teachers about this semester’s courses and other related issues. After the meeting, Ms. Wang Danting led the foreign teachers to the classrooms of this semester’s foreign courses to familiarize themselves with the teaching environment in advance.
Afterwards, the International Exchange Office held a meeting on the work of Chinese teachers in the new semester. Director Hu Zhen conveyed the spirit of the relevant work conference of the university and listed the overall work plan of the department in this semester. The main work of this semester can be summarized into six major areas, namely, the integration of Chinese and foreign teaching, the integration of Chinese and foreign teachers, the integration of Chinese and foreign evaluation, the integration of inside and outside the classroom, the Overseas Education and Training Center and other work (convening of the General Assembly of the Union of Private Universities for International Exchange and Cooperation, etc.), and once again clarified the lead person and responsibilities of each board. In addition, the Office of International Exchange listed the departmental work plan and responsibilities in detail according to the month, and the responsibility is down to the individual. We hope that all the teachers will make concerted efforts to put the construction of cooperation and exchange programs and other work into practice, and continuously improve the quality of work.
