At noon on 8 March 2024, the Arizona College of Technology held a training and exchange sharing session for foreign teachers in the conference room. Chen Hongyan, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and Secretary of the Party Committee of International Education Institutions, Philip Nash, American Vice President of Arizona Technical College, Song Chunying and Zhang Qiangyan, Vice Presidents, Zhang Xinning, Director of English Teaching Centre, Tian Yinghui, Officer of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the new foreign teachers of the college, and the relevant teachers of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and ACT attended the session.
首先，与会教师共同观看了河北工业大学英文宣传片，对河北工业大学悠久的建校历史和国际化合作办学布局进行了深入的了解。河北工大薪火相传的百廿发展历程也令在场众人为之动容。
First of all, the participating teachers watched the English video of HEBUT, and gained a deeper understanding of the long history of HEBUT and the layout of international co-operation in running schools.
陈鸿雁书记介绍了河北工业大学校史、学校国际化办学发展历程和和学校目前国际化合作办学情况，她指出，近年来芬兰校区和亚利桑那工业学院的成立展现了河北工业大学“走出去、引进来”的新格局，以先进的办学理念和教学模式、优秀的师资力量和丰富的教学资源践行高质量国际化人才培养。她表示，学校一直致力于加强与国外高校的交流与合作，提升教学质量，推动国际化办学不断发展。
美方副院长Philip Nash对本学期新加入的外籍教师们表示衷心的欢迎，他表示，未来希望可以与大家共同努力，一同建设亚工学院。
Secretary Chen Hongyan introduced the history of HEBUT, the development history of international school running and the current international co-operation of HEBUT. She pointed out that in recent years, the establishment of Finnish Campus and Arizona Institute of Technology has demonstrated the new pattern of HEBUT’s “Going Out, Bringing In”, which is based on the advanced school running concepts and teaching modes, excellent teaching staff and rich teaching resources to practice high-quality international talent cultivation. The establishment of HEBUT and ACT demonstrates the new pattern of “going out and coming in” of HEBUT, with advanced running concept and teaching mode, excellent teaching force and rich teaching resources to practice high-quality international talent training. She said that the university has always been committed to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with foreign universities, improving the quality of teaching and promoting the continuous development of international education.
Philip Nash, Vice President of the American side, expressed his heartfelt welcome to the new foreign teachers this semester, and said that he hoped to work together with all of them in the future to build up the college.
教学副院长张争艳对亚利桑那工业学院的建院历程、学院的教学安排、课程设置、育人目标（iSCI）、招生情况和丰富的学生活动等多方面进行了介绍。他强调，学院注重学生学风建设和学术道德，注重培养学生的综合素质和实践能力，以中美深度融合的育人模式培养具有“国际视野、科学素养、审辨思维、创新精神”的高质量国际化人才。他表示，学院也在不断完善各项体系，为学院学生建立国际化的教学环境。
张新宁老师从课堂要求、教学内容、课程质量等方面分享了以往教学经验和新学期教学要求，她表示，学院历来重视教学质量，不断完善教学评估体系，将与各位同仁携手并进，一同打造高质量的精品课程。田颖慧老师就外国人来华工作手续、居住证办理流程和相关法律法规进行了补充培训。在自由交流环节，学院相关工作人员与外籍教师围绕教学安排、日常管理等方面所关心的问题，进行了深入的交流。
Zhang Guanyan, Vice President of Teaching and Learning, introduced the history of the founding of the Arizona College of Technology (ACT), the teaching arrangement, curriculum, educational objectives (iSCI), enrolment and rich student activities. He emphasised that the institute pays attention to the construction of students’ academic style and academic ethics, focuses on cultivating students’ comprehensive quality and practical ability, and cultivates high-quality international talents with “international vision, scientific literacy, discerning thinking and innovative spirit” through the deep integration of Chinese and American education models. He said that the college is also improving the system to establish an internationalised teaching environment for the students of the college.
Ms. Zhang Xinning shared her past teaching experience and requirements for the new semester in terms of classroom requirements, teaching content and course quality. She said that the college has always attached great importance to the quality of teaching and constantly improved the teaching evaluation system, and would work hand in hand with colleagues to create high-quality and excellent courses. Ms Tian Yinghui provided additional training on the procedures for foreigners to work in China, the process of applying for residence permits and relevant laws and regulations. In the free exchange session, relevant staff of the college and foreign teachers had an in-depth exchange of views on teaching arrangement, daily management and other concerns.
本次培训与交流分享座谈会为外籍教师提供了一个互相交流、分享经验的平台，以便于更好地开展教学工作，更好地了解学院学生的需求和特点，增进彼此间的理解与合作。会上，外籍教师们互相介绍彼此的教学方法和经验，共同探讨教学中遇到的问题和解决方案。这种互动和合作不仅有助于外籍教师们在教学岗位上的成长，也促进了跨文化教育的发展。
This session provided a platform for foreign teachers to communicate with each other and share their experiences so as to better carry out their teaching work, better understand the needs and characteristics of the students in the college, and enhance mutual understanding and cooperation. During the meeting, the foreign teachers introduced each other’s teaching methods and experiences, and discussed the problems and solutions encountered in teaching together. This kind of interaction and cooperation not only helps foreign teachers grow in their teaching positions, but also promotes the development of intercultural education.
