On December 23, South China Business College hosted a banquet in the university restaurant to invite 24 foreign teachers and foreign affairs staff from various departments to celebrate Christmas and the new year.
In his speech, Vice President Lai Zhili thanked the foreign teachers for their contributions to the college over the past year.
Speaking of New Year, Licinia, a Portuguese foreign teacher at the School of Western Languages and Culture, said she knows 2020 is the year of the rat in China. Although she could not master Mandarin in a short time, she was very happy to learn more about Chinese culture.
At the dinner, school leaders and foreign teachers tasted delicious Chinese cuisine. Everyone sends good wishes to each other.

赖志立在致辞中,感谢外籍教师一年来对学校教学工作的贡献,同时肯定了各教学单位外事负责人的工作成果。“每逢佳节倍思亲”,在这西方的重大节日里,赖志立希望借晚宴,缓解外籍教师的思乡之情,也借此机会对外籍教师远在他乡的家人、亲属表示最真挚的祝福与感谢。
谈及新年,西方语言文化学院葡萄牙语外教Licinia对中国的传统文化有些了解。Licinia说,她知道2020年是中国的鼠年,是吉祥的一年。虽然无法在短时间内掌握中文,但她十分乐于学习了解中国文化。在众多美食当中,毛笔酥最受欢迎。这道油炸甜点,将面食捏成笔尖形状,过油炸好后,用粗大的“抓笔”笔杆做容器,颇有中国书香文化的韵味。上菜时大家纷纷拍照留念,经济学院经济学外教Meeraz还拍摄了大家吃毛笔酥的视频,他对毛笔酥赞不绝口。
晚宴上,校领导、外籍教师和各教学单位外事负责人,品尝了美味的中国佳肴。大家相谈甚欢,其乐融融,互送美好祝福,共同感受南国大家庭的温暖。
