Introduction to Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College

Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College (website) was established in April 2005 with the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education. It is a full-time private undergraduate college. Students who meet the requirements are awarded a bachelor’s degree according to the state regulation. The college is located in Jiading District, Shanghai, at the junction of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces next to Metro Line 11 in Shanghai. With the completion of the intercity high-speed railway, Tianhua college is very conveniently connected with the large cities in the Yangtze River Delta.

The school covers an area of 500 mu and has a building area of 210,000 square meters. It has good and modern teaching facilities, spacious sports venues, beautiful campus environment. Job Position
1. German Language Instructors
2. General Education Course Instructors (e.g. History, Geography, Public Speaking, German literature etc.)

Start Date
September 1st, 2021 to June 30th, 2022

Working hours / week
(1) 16 weeks/semester +2 weeks (exam & grading); 18-24 Teaching periods (40mins/period). (For regular program students with a regular semester teaching)
(2) 12 weeks/semester + 2 weeks (exam & grading); 24-32 Teaching periods (40mins/period) (For collaborative program cohorts) ***288-384 teaching periods/semester in total, minimum of 18 periods/week (a teaching hour=40mins)

Base salary in RMB:
a. 12,000 /month for BA;
b. 14,000/month for MA;
c. 16,000/month for PhD/EdD or above;
A salary raise will be provided considering teaching qualifications and working experience.

Flight and Travel Allowance
Reimbursing a round-trip airfare from home country to China (Max of 14,000RMB) ; Travel Allowances from 2000-6000 /academic year based on qualifications

Overtime Allowance
150-300RMB/hour based on teaching tasks and teaching qualifications

Vacation with Pay
1 month paid holiday around February during Spring Festival in China and other non-work holiday;

Health Insurance
The premium cap is 10,000RMB/ per academic year covering hospitalization and in-patient fees, out-patient fees excluded.

Requirements
1. Under 59 for working visa (60 is the retire age in China)
2. Native German speaker
3. College BA degree required or above
4. 2-year teaching experience esp. college students teaching experience preferred
