Introduction to Quanzhou No.5 High School
Quanzhou No.5 High School (泉州五中, website) is located in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, a historical and cultural city. The school was founded in 1902 (28 years of the Qing Dynasty in Guangxu). It is one of the earliest public middle schools founded in Ba Min Dadi. The school was identified as the first batch of key middle schools in Fujian at the beginning of liberation. In 1994, it became the first batch of first-class middle schools approved by the province. In September 2003, it was recognized as the first batch of demonstration high schools by the Provincial Department of Education. Established as a provincial sample school for new curriculum experiments in ordinary high schools. In 2012, it was identified as a “Pilot School for Diversified Curriculum Reform in Fujian Province”. In 2016, it became a “Fujian Educational Informatization Demonstration School”. In 2017, the school passed the provincial high score. The “Fujian Demonstrative Ordinary High School Construction School” assessment was awarded the “National Civilized Campus” in 2017.
In the past 100 years of running schools, Quanzhou No.5 High School has ten names and four places. Its quality has always been outstanding. In response to the call of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to expand high-quality educational resources and meet the needs of Quanzhou people for high-quality secondary schools, Quanzhou No. 5 Middle School opened the Ministry of International Education in the fall of 2011, and the junior high school was reopened in the autumn of Guitan Campus in the fall of 2013. The Chengdong Campus was put into use in the same year. The school has formed a “one school, two districts and three departments” (junior high school, high school, international department) school model. In the spring of 2018, the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided that Quanzhou No. 3 Middle School will be integrated into Quanzhou No. 5 Middle School. After the merger of the two schools, the scale of Quanzhou No. 5 Middle School has been further expanded. There are more than 7,500 students and nearly 600 faculty members.
