About School of International Education at South China University of Technology
South China University of Technology has been recruiting international students since the early 1960s. It is one of the early universities in China to train international students. In September 1995, the school resumed enrollment and welcomed the first batch of Chinese government scholarships to study in China. On July 16, 2004, the school established the International Institute of Education, and through the global recruitment, introduced Enron as the first dean from the University of Reading.
Since the establishment of the school, the concept of multicultural education has been taken as the concept of cultivating students of Zhihua Youhua, relying on the dominant disciplines of the school, featuring science and engineering majors, focusing on teaching in English, based on the surrounding and facing the world. A multi-level and multi-level education pattern supplemented by international students and supplemented by long-term and short-term Chinese language students. In 2016, the number of international students in the school increased from 152 in the year of the school to more than 2,200, from 130 countries, distributed in 27 schools, including 60% of the students.
The school insists on the introduction and training of talents. About 80% of the faculty and staff have overseas master’s degree or above, or have experience in overseas work, strong sense of innovation and service, and broad international vision. There are 28 full-time teachers, including 9 senior titles (2 doctoral tutors, 7 master tutors), 9 intermediate titles, 13 doctoral students, and 15 masters. The school has more than 50 part-time teachers (including foreign teachers).
The school has established a number of world-renowned universities such as Rutgers University, Lancaster University, Liverpool University, St. Petersburg University of Technology, University of Melbourne, Australia Open University, Prince of Songkla University, Vietnam Open University. Long-term and stable cooperative relationship, carry out multi-level joint training projects and long-term and short-term exchange projects, such as the Lancaster University Catalyst Project, the University of Liverpool Chinese Culture Training Program, Vietnam Business University and Hanoi Open University 2+2 Project, Thai Song A number of special projects such as the Chinese Language Training Program of the Prince of Card University, the English-language computer science project of the Founding University of Indonesia, the International Economics Division of Shuntian Township University in South Korea, and the Short-term Chinese Culture Project of Cameroon in Africa.
Recruitment Notice
1.Full-time Position
Applicants should have (a) a higher degree, at least at Master level or above, in Mathematics, Economics, Management, Finance, Business or English Language (specialization areas are flexible); (b) interest and preferably experience in teaching; (c) at least one-year related teaching experiences; (d) proficient English skills in listening, writing and speaking (Native English speaker preferred), (e) excellent computer and analytical skills; (f) respect Chinese culture; and (g) willingness to take up extra responsibilities.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) teaching courses related to his/her field of study for international students of B.E. International Economics and Trade and International Foundation; (b) teaching 14-16 lessons each week, with each lesson lasting 45 minutes; (c) preparing teaching materials; (d) grading students’ coursework; and (e) undertaking other assignments assigned by the Programme Coordinator.
2.Part-time Position
Applicants should have (a) a higher degree, at least at Master level or above, in Mathematics, Economics, Management, Finance, Business or English Language (specialization areas are flexible); (b) good teaching and communication skills; (c) proficient English skills in listening, writing and speaking (Native English speaker preferred), (d) excellent computer and analytical skills; and (e) respect Chinese culture.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) teaching courses related to his/her field of study for international students of B.E. International Economics and Trade and International Foundation; (b) preparing teaching materials; and (c) grading students’ coursework.
