Founded in 1956, Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine (website) has become a higher school with distinctive ethnic features for undergraduates, in which it develops mainly in field of traditional medicine, secondly in medical science, pharmaceutical science, engineering and business management by integrating education, science, culture, medical service, health preservation, enterprise development as well as international education and cooperation.
Our university started to enrolled undergraduates since 1964, and the overseas students since 1976, joint educated doctors and post doctors as well. It is one of the first universities which authorized by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China to set up programs for postgraduates after the China reform and opening up to the world.

Job Description
Description of English Teaching and Environment in Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine:
We have a joint Nursing program between Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and D’Youville College, U.S.A., which is approved by the ministry of Education, P.R. China in 2015. The students are all mainland Chinese students who passed the College Entrance Exam. They will study the first 3 years in China and 2 years in America. The criteria of admission are: overall GPA 3.0, TOEFL Score 79 or higher. The main teaching purpose is to help the students pass TOEFL.
1. The class size is quite small, 15 students in Year One and 20 students in Year Two.
2. Each semester, there will be four courses and 18 academic weeks.

3. The classes of freshmen and sophomore are at Xianhu Campus, which is a new campus located in suburb Nanning. There are school shuttle bus come and go between two campuses in the mornings, noons and evenings, which will take 50 min in a single trip. (The bus schedule and the pick-up and drop-off location will be provided.)
4. There is a Line Two subway station about 1000m away from Mingxiu Campus. It will be quite convenient to take subway to transfer to Line One to Shopping Malls. The Line Five subway is under construction which is quite near to Mingxiu Campus.
Job Qualification
1. Has the Bachelor or above degrees of English language or literature, translation, linguistic, language teaching or other relative majors, and two years of relative experience.
2. Aged less than 60 and with a good health condition. Should have no criminal record. Knowledge about Chinese culture is preferred.
3. Give about 12 periods of lessons a week (40 mins a period). Besides the courses a semester above, the overtime work will be paid RMB 100 before tax per period.
4. Should respect China’s policies on religion, moral standards and customs, and shall not conduct any activity incompatible with the status of a foreign expert.
5. Should communicate with D’Youville college to help GXUCM students to improve their English.
Wages and Benefits
1. Monthly salary will be RMB 8000 before tax.
2. Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine will provide the foreign teacher with a free dorm during the term of employment. The dorm which is located in downtown campus has an AC, washing mashing and hot water shower while the foreign teacher will pay water and electricity fees himself/herself. Whether the foreign teacher chooses the dorm, he/she will be paid the accommodation allowance (RMB 2000 a month before tax).
3. If the foreign teacher taught for a school academic year, University will provide a round trip international ticket allowance RMB 10000 before tax. If the foreign teacher taught for a school academic semester, University will not pay any international ticket allowance.
4. University will buy insurance for teacher from PingAn Insurance Company, and pay for resident permit (RMB 400/year) and its necessary related fees.
5. Teacher enjoys the winter and summer vacations as well as legal holidays in China according to the regulations of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine.
