Introduction to Ji’an
Located in the center of Jiangxi Province, Ji’an city lies both sides of the Gan River. The city is about 250 kilometers south of the provincial capital of Nanchang. It is a major center for red tourism in the People’s Republic of China, where the Jinggangshan National Scenic Area is located drawing large numbers of domestic tourists especially in the summer time.
The city is located along the heavily traveled expressway corridor between Nanchang and Guangzhou. The new high speed rail connecting Nanchang and Ganzhou will be completed in Oct. 2019. From there on, the travel time from Ji’an to Nanchang will be reduced to 1 hour.
Food in Ji’an is spicy. Jiangxi food is considered to be one of the most spicy food in China. People add pepper to most dishes. The resident population of Ji’an is 5.68 million as of 2018. Read more

Transportation
Ji’an is not a part of China’s high speed train network. The high speed train will come to the city at the end of 2019 which shorten the travel time from Nanchang to Ji’an from 2 hours to 1 hour. Before that, taking an airplane is still the most convenient way to get in and out of the city.
Jinggangshan Airport is a small regional airport. It isabout 30 kilometers (19 miles) from downtown Ji’an. At present, it operates flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
