2020 ISAC Spring Term Orientation

Date: Feb. 5, 2020 – Feb. 7, 2020
Place:1366 Qianjiang Road, Hangzhou, China (ISAC office)
Participants: Teachers from the 2019 Fall Term Intake

Email us before Jan. 15th, 2020 to register. You will receive confirmation within 1-2 days.

Who is it for?

The orientation is aimed at foreign teachers who joined ISAC Teach in China Program from the 2019 Fall Intake. You will meet up with other teachers placed at different host schools and universities. (ISAC will cover your hotel, lunch and transportation during the orientation. However, transportation to and from Hangzhou is paid by teachers themselves)

Plan your trip to Hangzhou

For ISAC teachers from the 2019 Fall intake, please let your host university be aware of your travel plan in Hangzhou. Let ISAC staff know your arrival time and plan.
– If you fly to Hangzhou, the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport is about 40 minutes from ISAC office.
– If you take a train to Hangzhou, the Hangzhou Dong Railway station is about 20 minutes from ISAC office by subway (take Line 4 to Qianjiang Road Station and exit at D2).

Orientation FAQ

Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang Province on the east coast of China. Hangzhou is about 150 km away from Shanghai.

Hangzhou is one of the most popular tourist destinations in China. Though it has been through economic and technological developments with many e-commerce companies boosting the local economy, it still keeps its historic beauty and cultural heritage. It is one of the most modern and vibrant cities in China.

You only need your passport. Please also let your host university be aware of your travel plan to Hangzhou.

Yes. Family are welcome. However, the additional expenses should be paid by the foreign teachers themselves including food and accommodation.

No, it is not. However, teachers are encouraged to participate and meet up with other foreign teachers and ISAC staff. We hope teachers can enjoy their time during the orientation and during their teaching at their host universities.

We understand that some teachers may have schedule conflicts. For those who cannot make it, you can always visit us during your school break.
